It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

SECTION 1. Chapter 11-41 of the General Laws entitled "Theft, Embezzlement, False Pretenses and Misappropriation" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:

{ADD 11-41-30. Fraud as to health insurer. -- ADD} {ADD Every person who shall obtain health care services from a provider of such services by any false pretense or pretenses with intent to cheat or defraud a health care services insurer or a service corporation organized under chapters 27-18, 27-19, 27-20, 27-20.1, 27-20.2 or 27-41 shall be deemed guilty of larceny. ADD}

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
