AN ACT RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLES -- HEADLIGHTS

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

SECTION 1. Section 31-24-1 of the General Laws in Chapter 31-24 entitled "Lighting Equipment and Reflectors" is hereby amended to read as follows:

{ADD 31-24-1. Times when lights required. -- ADD} Every vehicle upon a highway within this state at any time from {DEL a half hour after DEL} sunset to {DEL a half hour before DEL} sunrise and at any other time when there is not sufficient light or visibility because of severe rain or any other condition to clearly see persons and vehicles on the highway at a distance of five hundred (500) feet ahead shall display lighted lamps and illuminating devices as hereinafter respectively required for different classes of vehicles, subject to exceptions with respect to parked vehicles as hereinafter stated.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
