It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

SECTION 1. Section 1 of chapter 1197 of the public laws, 1904, entitled "An act in amendment of and in addition to chapter 1432 of the public laws, passed at the January session, A.D. 1895, entitled 'An act to divide the town of Tiverton into voting districts, and for other purposes'," as amended is hereby further amended to read as follows:

"Section 1. Elections for town and district officers for the town of Tiverton shall hereafter be held on the first Wednesday in April in each year. The town meeting of said town for the ordering and disposition of the taxes and the consideration of all matters relating to the finances of said town shall be held in the Tiverton Junior Senior High School on No. Brayton road on the third Wednesday in May at 7:30 P.M. for 1994. Commencing in 1995 the town meeting will return to the first Wednesday in May of each year. Meetings called on request of the electors or at the request of the town council shall be held at the Tiverton Junior Senior High School at the date and hour named in the request.

All persons other than members of the town council proposing to introduce any resolution or proposition other than those to be proposed by the town council or budget committee at any financial town meeting shall file in the office of the town clerk at least twenty (20) days before the financial town meeting the form of resolution intended to be presented at said financial town meeting in order that the town council and the electors of said town qualified to vote at such financial town meeting may be appraised thereof."

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
