It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 23-28.28 of the General Laws entitled "Explosives" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:
{ADD 23-28.28-37. Notice to adjoining landowners. -- ADD}
{ADD {DELAny DEL} {ADD Prior to the commencement of blasting operations, any ADD} person, firm, corporation or other entity regulated pursuant
to the provisions of this chapter shall, notify the owner or
owners of record of any improved real property within five hundred
(500') feet {DEL of the location of an intended explosion or detonation
excluding road and bridge construction, DEL} {ADD as measured from the nearest borehole to the closest improved real property, of an intended blast or detonation, including road, bridge, utility, and public works construction,
no less than twenty-four
(24) hours prior thereto. ADD}
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
