It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 16-2 of the General Laws entitled "School Committees and Superintendents" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:
{ADD 16-2-33. City of Woonsocket -- Compensation to school committee members. -- ADD} {ADD The city council of the city of Woonsocket is authorized to appropriate a sum certain and annually determine salaries for the chairperson and members of the school committee for the city of Woonsocket. ADD}
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
