It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
SECTION 1. The Department of Education shall create and develop
a plan for {DELaDEL} teacher's {DELassistants planDEL} {ADDassistants professional developmentADD} in the state of Rhode Island.
Provided further that the plan shall provide for state oversight
to assure quality and access; identify any and all potential sources
of funding; establish minimum standards of training; and shall
provide for a comprehensive system for sharing information and
for networking. The director of the department or his or her designee
shall provide a report to the general assembly on March 1, 2000.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
