It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 39-21.1 of the General Laws entitled "911 Emergency Telephone Number Act" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:
{ADD 39-21.1-18. First responder services. -- ADD} {ADDIn emergency situations which require emergency medical transportation services and arise out of a 911 emergency telephone system request, only those ambulance services which are operated by municipalities, for municipalities by contracted services, by fire districts, or by nonprofit corporations shall be used. ADD}
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
