It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 42-12.3 of the General Laws entitled "Health Care for Children and Pregnant Women" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:
{ADD 42-12.3-5.1. Emergency Care. -- ADD} {ADD The Department of Human Services shall ensure that managed care organizations providing services under this chapter comply with the "prudent lay person" emergency care coverage standard as required by Section 1931 (b) of Title XIX of the Social Security Act. ADD}
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
