It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 31-3 of the General Laws entitled "Registration of Vehicles" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:
{ADD 31-3-68. Police chief emeritus. -- ADD} {ADD The registrar of the motor vehicles is hereby authorized and directed to issue a special registration plate for the private passenger motor vehicle of former police chief Vincent A. Acciardo of the town of Johnston. The plate shall bear the identification "Police Chief Emeritus" with an appropriate number and seal of the state thereon imprinted and the plate shall be furnished without additional registration charge for such period of time as former chief Acciardo so desires. ADD}
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
