It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 5-45-8 of the General Laws in Chapter 5-45 entitled "Nursing Home Administrators" is hereby amended to read as follows:
5-45-8. Licensure in other jurisdictions. -- The
department may issue a nursing home administrator's license without
examination, to any person who holds a current license {ADD in good
standing ADD}as a nursing home administrator from another jurisdiction
provided that the department finds that the {DEL standards
for licensure in that other jurisdiction are substantially equivalent
to those prevailing in this state, and that the applicant is otherwise
qualified DEL} {ADD individual meets education and experience
requirements as established by the department regulation ADD}.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
