It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 5-6-28 of the General Laws in Chapter 5-6 entitled "Electricians" is hereby amended to read as follows:
5-6-28. Penalties for unlicensed work. -- Any person,
firm, association, or corporation or employee thereof, and any
representative, member, or officer of such firm, association,
or corporation individually entering upon or engaging in the business
and work hereinbefore defined, without having complied with this
chapter, shall for the first offense be punished by a fine of
not more than {DEL two hundred and fifty dollars ($250) DEL}
{ADD five hundred dollars ($500) ADD}, and for a subsequent offense
by a fine of not more than {DEL five hundred dollars ($500) DEL}
{ADD seven hundred fifty dollars ($750) ADD} or by imprisonment for
six (6) months or both.
SECTION 2. Section 5-20-33 of the General Laws in Chapter 5-20 entitled "Plumbers " is hereby amended to read as follows:
5-20-33. Penalties for violations. -- Any person
violating any provision of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor
and subject to a fine of not less than {DEL fifty dollars ($50.00) DEL}
{ADD two hundred dollars ($200) ADD} and not more than {DEL three
hundred dollars ($300) DEL} {ADD four hundred dollars ($400) ADD}
for a first offense and for second and subsequent violations of
this chapter be subject to a fine of not less than {DEL one
hundred dollars ($100) DEL} {ADD three hundred dollars ($300) ADD}
and not more than {DEL four hundred and fifty dollars ($450) DEL}
{ADD six hundred dollars ($600) and may be imprisoned for not more
than six (6) months, or both ADD}.
SECTION 3. Section 28-27-26 of the General Laws in Chapter 28-27 entitled "Pipefitters and Refrigeration Technicians, Fire Protection Sprinkler Contractors and Journeypersons Sprinkler Fitters and Oil Heat Contractors" is hereby amended to read as follows:
28-27-26. Penalties for violations. -- Any person
violating any provision of this chapter, except as provided in
section 28-27-1.1, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and subject
to a fine not less than {DEL fifty dollars ($50.00) DEL}
{ADD two hundred dollars ($200) ADD} and not more than {DEL three
hundred dollars ($300) DEL} {ADD four hundred dollars ($400) ADD}
for a first offense and for a second and subsequent violation
of this chapter be the subject of a fine of not less than {DEL one
hundred dollars ($100) DEL} {ADD three hundred dollars ($300) ADD}
and not more than {DEL five hundred dollars ($500) DEL}
{ADD six hundred dollars ($600) ADD}{ADD.ADD} {DEL{ADDand may be imprisoned for not more
than six (6) months, or both ADD}DEL}.
SECTION 4. This act shall take effect upon passage.
