It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, the town council of the town of Johnston shall have the same authority granted to city councils by title 44, chapter 3, section 9(b) of the general laws, to exempt or stabilize taxes on property used for manufacturing or commercial purposes.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
