It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
SECTION 1. Sections 5-6-10 and 5-6-14 of the General Laws in Chapter 5-6 entitled "Electricians" are hereby amended to read as follows:
  5-6-10.  Limited premises certificate/license. --    A                    
Certificate C shall be issued to  {DEL any person, firm, or corporation  DEL}            
{ADD  manufacturing and industrial firms who  ADD}  regularly  {DEL employing  DEL}               
{ADD  employ  ADD}  one or more electricians for installation and {ADD  when the             
work performed by said individuals is limited to  ADD}  maintenance {ADD  and            
repair  ADD}  of  {DEL electric  DEL}  {ADD  electrical  ADD}  wiring, devices, appliances,            
and equipment on {ADD  the  ADD}  premises owned or occupied by the applicant.           
The application must be made by  {DEL some  DEL}  {ADD  a  ADD}  responsible officer of           
 {DEL a  DEL}  {ADD  the  ADD}  firm  {DEL or corporation,  DEL}  and shall contain a description          
of the premises within which work is to be done under the permit.               
{ADD  All work must meet electrical and municipal codes and must be                 
permitted accordingly by the municipality.  ADD}                                     
  5-6-14.  Work on premises covered by limited premises                    
certificates. --    Electricians regularly employed by firms or                  
 {DEL corporations,  DEL}  holders of a Certificate C, may install {ADD  and                 
maintain  ADD}  such electrical wiring, conduits, and appliances, or make            
such repairs as may be required  {DEL only on the premises and property of          
those firms or corporations; provided, however that those electricians          
hold journeyperson's licenses, and have complied with this chapter.  DEL}            
{ADD  in and on the property of those firms, provided however, that a               
permit has been approved and issued by the municipality to ensure that          
all code and safety policies are upheld, and that electricians holding          
journeyperson's licenses are complying with this chapter.  Class C              
certificates are not valid for new external construction projects on a          
firm's premises exceeding two thousand (2,000) square feet.  ADD}                    
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
