It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

SECTION 1. Chapter 17-1 of the General Laws entitled "General Provisions" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:

At-large election in the town of North Providence. -- ADD} {ADD In partisan elections for town council at-large and school committee at-large in the town of North Providence the names of every candidate for each office shall appear on the same horizontal line on the voting machine. ADD}

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
