It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

SECTION 1. Chapter 35-3 of the general laws entitled "State Budget" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:

Department of transportation budget -- Tort claims. -- ADD} {ADD In submitting the estimates for expenditures and requests for appropriations, the director of the department of transportation shall provide an estimate of the funds necessary for paying tort claims made pursuant to section 24-8-35 of the general laws. ADD}

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect on July 1, 1994.
