It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

SECTION 1. Section 31-2-6 of the General Laws in Chapter 31-2 entitled "Registry of Motor Vehicles" is hereby amended to read as follows:

{ADD 31-2-6. Offices. -- ADD} The registrar shall maintain {DEL an DEL} office {ADD s ADD} {DEL in the state capital and DEL} in such {DEL other DEL} places in the state as he may deem necessary properly to carry out the powers and duties vested in the registry; provided, however, that the registrar shall maintain a branch office in the town of Warren and keep said office open for business at least three (3) days per week {DEL , and also maintain a branch office in the city of Pawtucket and keep said office open for business five (5) days per week for normal daytime operating hours DEL} .

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
