It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

SECTION 1. Chapter 33, Section 13 of the Public Laws of 1957, as amended, is hereby further amended to read as follows:

Sec. 13. Declaration of Candidacy. -- Candidates for nomination in the primary election shall file with the canvassing authority declarations of their candidacy upon forms provided by the canvassing authority. Such declarations shall be filed on the second, third and not later than 5 p.m. on the fourth day of April in every even numbered year beginning in 1958, except for the primary election scheduled in 1982, when such declaration, shall be filed on the twenty-sixth, twenty-seventh and not later than 4 p.m. on the twenty-eight day of May in that year {DEL . DEL} {ADD provided, however, that such declarations shall be filed on the first, second and not later than 4 p.m. on the third business day of April, excluding Good Friday, in every even numbered year beginning in 1994. SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
