It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

SECTION 1. The first sentence of section 11 of chapter 161 of the public laws of 1993, entitled "An act authorizing the town of Coventry to finance the expansion of the town's sewers and sewerage system and to issue not more than $8,500,000 bonds therefore" is hereby amended to read as follows:

The question of the approval of this act shall be submitted to the electors of the town at a special local election to be held on a date, which may be the same date as any other election, prior to March 31, 1994, as shall be designated by the town council.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
