| PROCLAIMING JUNE 4, 2026, TO BE "COX IMPACT DAY" IN THE STATE OF RHODE ISLAND |

| WHEREAS, Cox Communications is committed to creating meaningful moments of |
| human connection through technology. As the largest private broadband company in America, |
| Cox operates fiber-powered networks in more than 30 States, providing connections and |
| advanced cloud and managed IT services for nearly seven million homes and businesses |
| nationwide. They are dedicated to empowering others to build a better future and celebrate |
| diverse products, people, suppliers, communities, and the characteristics that make each one |
| unique; and |
| WHEREAS, Cox Communications is the largest division of Cox Enterprises, a family- |
| owned business founded in 1898 by Governor James M. Cox; and |
| WHEREAS, Since 2001, Cox employees and business partners have invested in Cox |
| Charities, a charitable giving initiative of Cox Communications. Cox Charities has invested more |
| than $11 million in grants and in-kind support to organizations providing S.T.E.A.M. [Science, |
| Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math] enrichment programs to youth throughout the |
| Northeast; and |
| WHEREAS, Cox believes in community action through giving and loves the position |
| they hold as a contributing member of the community. This compels Cox to provide support with |
| monetary, media and premium gift contributions that provide goodwill to organizations and |
| causes in need and strengthens the social, economic and educational infrastructure of our |
| community; and |
| WHEREAS, Cox demonstrates what they firmly believe by their focused areas of giving, |
| concentrating their support in the following key areas: Environment – Cox supports organizations |
| and initiatives that encourage environmental sustainability and conservation; Civic and |
| Community Engagement-- Cox supports charitable and community organizations that make a |
| positive difference in the communities they serve; and Youth & Education -- Cox supports |
| programs targeted toward providing children with the essentials they need to grow up into self- |
| supporting and contributing members of society. Realizing the importance of education, Cox |
| supports initiatives that enhance educational efforts, particularly at the K-12 level; Equal |
| Opportunity -- Cox supports organizations that expand access to education, job training, and |
| workforce development for underserved teens and adults; and Technology -- Cox supports |
| initiatives that enhance technology curriculum for children; and |
| WHEREAS, The 2026 Rhode Island recipients of Cox Charities grants are: ACE Mentor |
| Program of Rhode Island; Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rhode Island; College Visions; DownCity |
| Design; Federal Hill House Association; Junior Achievement of Rhode Island; Meeting Street; |
| Mini Entrepreneurs of Rhode Island; Providence Public Library; RAMP – Real Action Motivates |
| Progress; Revive the Roots; Roots2Empower; and Skills for Rhode Island's Future; now, |
| therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby proclaims June 4, |
| 2026, to be "Cox Impact Day" in the State of Rhode Island and offers its sincerest thanks to Cox |
| for its philanthropic efforts in Rhode Island; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
| transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Ms. Nora Crowley, Director of Government |
| Affairs for Cox Communications, and Ms. Rosie Fernandez, Manager of Community & Public |
| Affairs for Cox Communications. |
