| H O U S E R E S O L U T I O N |
| RECOGNIZING MARCH 2026 AS "NATIONAL CREDIT EDUCATION MONTH" AND COMMENDING THOSE ORGANIZATIONS THAT FOCUS ON FINANCIAL LITERACY EDUCATION IN THE STATE OF RHODE ISLAND |

| WHEREAS, Annually, National Credit Education Month promotes education about |
| financial literacy topics such as credit and the significance of responsible credit management; and |
| WHEREAS, National Credit Education Month encourages pioneers in credit restoration |
| and education, as well as banks, businesses, and organizations, to provide opportunities for |
| people to enhance their financial skills and access the information and tools needed to achieve a |
| high credit score; and |
| WHEREAS, During the month, organizations that provide educational resources offer |
| services including workshops, webinars, and seminars to help consumers learn about budgeting, |
| saving, debt management, credit scores, and credit reports; and |
| WHEREAS, National Credit Education Month reminds consumers to review their credit |
| reports for errors or inaccuracies and helps individuals gain access to higher loan acceptance rates |
| and qualifications; and |
| WHEREAS, During this month, individuals are encouraged to take steps to learn more |
| about managing credit and creating good financial habits that will ensure an excellent credit |
| report; now, therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island recognizes |
| March 2026 as "National Credit Education Month" and commends the many organizations that |
| focus on financial literacy education in the State of Rhode Island such as: RI Jump$tart Coalition, |
| Junior Achievement of Rhode Island, Rhode Island Financial Capability Consortium, Capital |
| Good Fund, Financial Literacy Youth Initiative (FLY), Navigant Credit Union, Washington |
| Trust, Westerly Community Credit Union, along with several others; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
| transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to the National Financial Educators Council. |
