H O U S E   R E S O L U T I O N
EXTENDING THE REPORTING AND EXPIRATION DATES, AND AMENDING THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE SPECIAL HOUSE COMMISSION TO STUDY AND PROVIDE FINDINGS AND POTENTIAL SOLUTIONS TO ADDRESS THE FLOODING OF THE PAWTUXET RIVER

     RESOLVED, That the special legislative commission created by resolution No. 318
passed by the House of Representatives at its January session, A.D. 2025, and approved May 20,
2025, entitled "HOUSE RESOLUTION CREATING A SPECIAL LEGISLATIVE
COMMISSION TO STUDY AND PROVIDE FINDINGS AND POTENTIAL SOLUTIONS TO
ADDRESS THE FLOODING OF THE PAWTUXET RIVER" is hereby authorized to continue
its study and make a report to the House of Representatives on or before March 5, 2027, and said
commission shall expire on June 2, 2027; and be it further
     RESOLVED, That the time for reporting authorized by resolution No. 318 passed by the
House of Representatives at its January session, A.D. 2025, and approved May 20, 2025, be and
the same is hereby rescinded; and be it further
     RESOLVED, That the composition of said house commission is hereby increased by
amending the membership as follows: The composition of said house commission is hereby
increased from eleven (11) members to thirteen (13) members by replacing the District Engineer
Commander of the New England District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers with the Chief of the
West Warwick Fire Department, or designee; by replacing the Acting Regional Administrator for
FEMA, Region 1 with the Assistant Town Manager of Coventry, or designee; by adding an
additional business owner in a potential flood zone area, to be appointed by the Speaker of the
     House; and by adding the Providence Water Executive Engineer, or designee.
