| CELEBRATING “Y DAY AT THE STATE HOUSE” ON APRIL 29, 2025 |

| WHEREAS, Based in the City of Providence, the Rhode Island YMCA Alliance is a |
| 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is dedicated to supporting and promoting the mission of all |
| YMCAs in our State, from Westerly to Newport, and Kent County to Smithfield; and |
| WHEREAS, The organization works to strengthen YMCAs through collaboration and |
| advocacy in order to better serve our communities; and |
| WHEREAS, On Tuesday, April 29th of 2025, staff representing all the State’s YMCAs |
| will be celebrating “Y Day at the State House” with information on the wide variety of healthy |
| programming and education offered by the various branches, to help improve the lives of young |
| people, seniors, families, and individuals; and |
| WHEREAS, Rhode Island’s YMCAs have had a multifaceted positive impact on youth |
| development, healthy living, and social responsibility through after-school care, summer camps, |
| family events and academic enrichment and development; and |
| WHEREAS, Rhode Island's YMCAs have had a tangible impact on the lives of |
| generations of Rhode Islanders and stand as “a beacon of hope and opportunity” for the people of |
| our State; now, therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby celebrates “Y Day at |
| the State House” and thanks the staff and leadership of all our State’s YMCAs for their dedication |
| to “fostering the next generation of leaders, innovators, and changemakers” in our State; and be it |
| further |
| RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
| transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Karen Santilli, YMCA Greater Providence |
| CEO. |
