| H O U S E R E S O L U T I O N |
| PROCLAIMING MONDAY, APRIL 28, 2025, AS “PAY IT FORWARD WITH LOVE FROM TORI DAY” IN THE STATE OF RHODE ISLAND |

| WHEREAS, Global Pay It Forward Day originated in Australia in 2000, and is now a |
| worldwide celebration that takes place each year on April 28th and is recognized by over 80 |
| countries; and |
| WHEREAS, “Pay it forward” is an expression for describing “the beneficiary of a good |
| deed repaying the kindness to others rather than paying it back to the original benefactor” with |
| the hope of starting a chain reaction of goodness; and |
| WHEREAS, On March 26, 2003, at the age of 12, Tori Lynn Andreozzi was hit by a |
| drunken driver, leaving irreparable damage to her brain and body, but her irrepressible love and |
| spirit inspired those around her, particularly her mom, Cathy; and |
| WHEREAS, Pay It Forward was not only Tori Andreozzi’s favorite movie, but a tenet by |
| which she lived her young life, and wanting to honor her and her spirit, her mother Cathy created |
| the Tori Lynn Andreozzi Foundation, in conjunction with Pay It Forward Day, which promotes |
| an initiative “With Love From Tori”; and |
| WHEREAS, The Tori Lynn Andreozzi Foundation strives to bring awareness to the Pay |
| It Forward movement and provides opportunities to individuals and groups to participate in |
| fostering a culture of giving. In addition, the Foundation works to empower people to make good |
| choices and find the courage to make a difference; and |
| WHEREAS, In past years, the Pay It Forward with Love From Tori Day has witnessed |
| overwhelming success and acts of kindness with martial arts and elementary schools |
| participating, and with police from eight different departments providing an escort for the |
| delivery of boxes and boxes of band aids to the Hasbro Children’s Hospital Tomorrow Fund, to |
| name but a few of the many contributing groups; and |
| WHEREAS, “Pay It Forward With Love From Tori” encourages people to do good deeds |
| for others without asking for anything in return except to pay it forward to someone else in need |
| with the belief and hope that together, through kindness and unity, people can create positive |
| change in our communities and the world – one good deed at a time; now, therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby |
| proclaims April 28, 2025, to be” Pay It Forward With Love From Tori Day” in the State of Rhode |
| Island and moreover urges all citizens of the State to observe this day with activities and acts of |
| kindness that demonstrate and celebrate selfless giving; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
| transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Cathy Andreozzi. |
