H O U S E   R E S O L U T I O N
JOYOUSLY CELEBRATING "NORTH KINGSTOWN DAY" ON MARCH 13, 2025

     WHEREAS, The Town of North Kingstown was incorporated on October 28, 1674, and
recently celebrated its 350th anniversary; and
     WHEREAS, North Kingstown has a rich heritage and history and is the home to a diverse
group of over 27,000 Rhode Islanders; and
     WHEREAS, North Kingstown played a pivotal role during World War II with the Naval
Air Station and Naval Construction Battalion Center at Quonset Point and was recently
designated by the National Park Service as a World War II Heritage Town; and
     WHEREAS, North Kingstown is the home of the Adjutant General of Rhode Island,
Brigadier General Andrew J. Chevalier, and the 143rd Airlift Wing of the Rhode Island Air
National Guard and the Companies A and F, 1st Battalion, 126th Aviation Regiment of the Rhode
Island Army National Guard; and
     WHEREAS, North Kingstown is also the home of the Quonset Development Corporation
(QDC) headquartered at the Quonset Business Park and Port of Davisville, all key contributors to
Rhode Island’s economy; now, therefore be it
     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby
joyously celebrates "North Kingstown Day" on March 13, 2025, and honors the people of the
Town of North Kingstown for their service and contributions to the State of Rhode Island; and be
it further
     RESOLVED, That this House hereby urges all citizens to show and express their
appreciation for the contribution of the Town of North Kingstown and its citizens to the State of
Rhode Island; and be it further
     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the Town of North Kingstown.
