| JOYOUSLY CELEBRATING "NORTH KINGSTOWN DAY" ON MARCH 13, 2025 |

| WHEREAS, The Town of North Kingstown was incorporated on October 28, 1674, and |
| recently celebrated its 350th anniversary; and |
| WHEREAS, North Kingstown has a rich heritage and history and is the home to a diverse |
| group of over 27,000 Rhode Islanders; and |
| WHEREAS, North Kingstown played a pivotal role during World War II with the Naval |
| Air Station and Naval Construction Battalion Center at Quonset Point and was recently |
| designated by the National Park Service as a World War II Heritage Town; and |
| WHEREAS, North Kingstown is the home of the Adjutant General of Rhode Island, |
| Brigadier General Andrew J. Chevalier, and the 143rd Airlift Wing of the Rhode Island Air |
| National Guard and the Companies A and F, 1st Battalion, 126th Aviation Regiment of the Rhode |
| Island Army National Guard; and |
| WHEREAS, North Kingstown is also the home of the Quonset Development Corporation |
| (QDC) headquartered at the Quonset Business Park and Port of Davisville, all key contributors to |
| Rhode Island’s economy; now, therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby |
| joyously celebrates "North Kingstown Day" on March 13, 2025, and honors the people of the |
| Town of North Kingstown for their service and contributions to the State of Rhode Island; and be |
| it further |
| RESOLVED, That this House hereby urges all citizens to show and express their |
| appreciation for the contribution of the Town of North Kingstown and its citizens to the State of |
| Rhode Island; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
| transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the Town of North Kingstown. |
