H O U S E   R E S O L U T I O N
WELCOMING THE REGION 1 CONFERENCE OF THE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF MOTOR VEHICLE ADMINISTRATORS (AAMVA) TO THE STATE OF RHODE ISLAND

     WHEREAS, The American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) is
an international organization dedicated to developing innovative model programs in motor
vehicle administration, law enforcement, and highway safety, in order to provide safer and easier
ways to navigate the highways and roads of its member States, Provinces and Countries; and
     WHEREAS, The American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators is comprised of
the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the US Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Guam, the Northern
Marianas, and all 13 Canadian Provinces and territories. The AAMVA also has ties to the
European Union, Mexico and Australia; and
     WHEREAS, The AAMVA Region I Conference will be meeting in Rhode Island and
consists of the states of Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode
Island, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware, the District of Columbia,
and the Canadian Provinces of Ontario, Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, New
Brunswick and Prince Edward Island; and
     WHEREAS, This is the first time in more than forty years that Rhode Island will be the
host of a Region I AAMVA Regional Conference, and it is anticipated that between 350 and 375
administrators will be travelling to Rhode Island for this auspicious and informative gathering;
now, therefore be it
     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby
warmly welcomes the Region I Administrators of the American Association of Motor Vehicle
Administrators to Rhode Island for its 2023 Conference, and thanks them for all of their tireless
work making roads and highways safer and easier to navigate for drivers; and be it further
     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Walter R. Craddock, Esq., Administrator,
Rhode Island Division of Motor Vehicles.
