| AUTHORIZING THE TOWN OF NORTH PROVIDENCE TO ESTABLISH, ADOPT, AND REAPPORTION THE TOWN COUNCIL AND SCHOOL COMMITTEE VOTING WARDS |

| It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: |
| SECTION 1. In all respects in which amendments to the local voting wards within the town |
| of North Providence, which amendment was adopted and approved by the town council of the town |
| of North Providence on May 24, 2022 as set forth in resolution R22-007, may require ratification, |
| confirmation, validation or enactment by the general assembly, but in no other respects, the local |
| reapportionment plan of the local voting wards within the town of North Providence, adopted |
| pursuant to Article Four, Chapter Two, Section One (4-2-1) of the North Providence town charter, |
| are hereby ratified, confirmed, validated and enacted by the passage of this act. Nothing contained |
| in this act shall be construed to abrogate or impair the powers now or hereafter granted to cities and |
| towns by the Home Rule Amendment and other applicable laws of the State of Rhode Island or |
| those rights retained by said town of North Providence in its home rule charter. |
| SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
