| RESOLVED, That the special legislative commission created by resolution No. 220 |
| passed by the House of Representatives at its January session, A.D. 2014, and approved April 29, |
| 2014, entitled, "HOUSE RESOLUTION CREATING A SPECIAL LEGISLATIVE |
| COMMISSION TO ASSESS AND MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS ON THE EDUCATIONAL |
| NEEDS OF CHILDREN WITH DYSLEXIA AND/OR READING DISABILITIES," and as |
| amended by resolution No. 277 passed by the House of Representatives at its January session, |
| A.D. 2015, and approved May 12, 2015, entitled "HOUSE RESOLUTION REINSTATING AND |
| EXTENDING THE COMMISSION LIFE AND AMENDING THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE |
| SPECIAL LEGISLATIVE COMMISSION TO ASSESS AND MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS |
| ON THE EDUCATIONAL NEEDS OF CHILDREN WITH DYSLEXIA AND/OR READING |
| DISABILITIES" and as extended by resolution No. 199 passed by the House at its January |
| session, A.D. 2016, and approved May 3, 2016, entitled "HOUSE RESOLUTION EXTENDING |
| THE EXPIRATION AND REPORTING DATES OF THE SPECIAL LEGISLATIVE |
| COMMISSION TO ASSESS AND MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS ON THE EDUCATIONAL |
| NEEDS OF CHILDREN WITH DYSLEXIA AND/OR READING DISABILITIES," and as |
| extended by resolution No. 376 passed by the House at its January session, A.D. 2017, and |
| approved September 19, 2017, entitled ""HOUSE RESOLUTION REINSTATING AND |
| EXTENDING THE EXPIRATION AND REPORTING DATES OF THE SPECIAL |
| LEGISLATIVE COMMISSION TO ASSESS AND MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS ON THE |
| EDUCATIONAL NEEDS OF CHILDREN WITH DYSLEXIA AND/OR READING |
| DISABILITIES" is hereby authorized to continue its study and make a report to the House of |
| Representatives on or before February 7, 2019, and said commission shall expire on May 7, 2019; |
| and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the time for reporting authorized by resolution No. 376 passed by the |
| House of Representatives at its January session, A.D. 2017, and approved September 19, 2017, be |
| and the same is hereby rescinded; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the composition of said legislative commission is hereby amended by |
| increasing the membership from nine (9) members to thirteen (13) by adding: one of whom shall |
| be the President of the University of Rhode Island, or designee; one of whom shall be the |
| President of Rhode Island College, or designee; and two (2) of whom shall be members of the |
| general public, to be appointed by the Speaker of the House. |
