H O U S E   R E S O L U T I O N

COMMEMORATING THE 90TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FOUNDING OF ST. ANTHONY'S CHURCH, WEST WARWICK

WHEREAS, St. Anthony's Church was founded in 1925, in the Town of West Warwick,

Rhode Island. With the promise of religious freedom, the founding fathers built the church with

the strength of their convictions and faith in their hearts; and

WHEREAS, Over the years, St. Anthony's has been blessed with outstanding and devout

leadership, and has continued to grow and flourish under the spiritual guidance of Rev. Victor T.

Silva and Deacon Carlos Botelho; and

WHEREAS, St. Anthony's is a bilingual parish that welcomes and serves both

Portuguese and English speaking families from West Warwick and the surrounding area; and

WHEREAS, Parishioners have celebrated the birth of new generations with christenings,

shared in the hopes and dreams of joyous unions through marriage, and sought comfort at the end

of a family member’s time on earth; and

WHEREAS, This year marks the 90th Anniversary of the founding of St. Anthony's

Church in West Warwick. It is a special occasion to be celebrated by giving thanks to God for His

blessings over the past ninety years; now, therefore be it

RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and

Providence Plantations hereby congratulates the congregation and ministry of St. Anthony's

Church on the joyous 90th Anniversary of its founding and wishes them continued spiritual

success and many more years of community enrichment and service; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Rev. Victor T. Silva, St. Anthony's Church.
