| CELEBRATING "BEN MONDOR DAY" ON APRIL 16TH, 2015, IN THE STATE OF RHODE ISLAND |

| WHEREAS, In 1977, Mr. Bernard G. Mondor, known as Ben to his many friends and |
| admirers, purchased a failing minor league baseball franchise in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. He |
| soon transformed both team and stadium into a thriving fan and family-friendly venue; and |
| WHEREAS, Throughout his tenure at the helm of the PawSox, Ben Mondor won acclaim |
| and admiration not only for his professional successes with the PawSox franchise, but also for his |
| vision, drive, and community involvement; and |
| WHEREAS, The impact and legacy Ben Mondor left on the game of baseball are |
| nationally renowned and there is no doubt that he left this state a far better place because of his |
| life's endeavors; and |
| WHEREAS, Sadly in 2010, Ben Mondor passed away, but he will forever hold a place of |
| honor in Rhode Island's history. His greatest gift to our state can be found in the eyes and hearts |
| of fans both young and old alike, who have been able to savor the magic of a warm summer |
| evening at the ballpark, enjoying America's favorite pastime, because of this extraordinary man's |
| determination and generosity; now, therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and |
| Providence Plantations hereby celebrates "Ben Mondor Day" on April 16th of 2015. We |
| moreover honor Ben Mondor, former owner of the beloved PawSox, for entertaining and |
| inspiring generations of Rhode Islanders; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
| transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Madeleine Mondor. |
