CELEBRATING THE
DEDICATION OF THE FIRST
IN THE TOWN OF

WHEREAS,
through the selfless service of our brave veterans. From
those who fought in the Revolutionary
War to those currently serving in
defending Little Round Top to the soldiers who landed at
our country’s armed forces have given up the comforts of
home and the company of loved ones to
serve our nation. Many also paid the supreme sacrifice to
preserve our freedoms; and
WHEREAS, Our Vietnam
Veterans fought for our freedom, kept
dedicated their lives to this nation so that we could live
freely in the land of liberty. We are
forever grateful for their unwavering strength and courage
while fighting in the Vietnam War;
and
WHEREAS, The Town of
Lincoln’s new Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial expresses our
collective gratitude, commemorates Vietnam Veterans’ service,
and acknowledges their sacrifice
and contributions to the life, liberty, and happiness of
every Rhode Islander and all Americans;
and
WHEREAS, All Vietnam War
Veterans that are among us today, the POW/MIA’s, and
the men and women that gave of their lives deserve to be
honored and have earned our deepest
respect. May the heroism and courage of those who have served
and continue to serve our great
country always be remembered; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED,
That this Senate of the State of
hereby celebrates the dedication of the first Vietnam
Veterans’ Memorial in the Town of
and be it further
RESOLVED,
That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is
authorized and directed to
transmit a duly certified copy of the resolution to the Rhode
Island Adjutant General Major
General Robert T. Bray.
