O L U T I O N
RECOGNIZING AND
HONORING JOHN J. CLARKE, JR., FOR HIS DEDICATED
SERVICE TO THE
PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF

WHEREAS, Born in
described as a “man for all seasons.” His devotion to his
family is admirable; he has excelled in
his chosen profession; his commitment to the community
and civic interests are earnest and
widely varied; and his dependable nature and gifted
intellect have provided him with loyal and
plentiful friendships; and
WHEREAS, Shortly after graduating from
relocated to
States Army, where he saw active duty as an
electronics instructor and earned his honorable
discharge at the rank of Specialist 4th Class. During his
years in the military, he married his wife,
Jeanne, and together they had four children; and
WHEREAS, Upon discharge, Mr. Clarke returned to
and raise his family. He founded the John J.
Clarke, Jr., Insurance business in 1977, and in 1993,
opened The Insurance Store Inc., a thriving business located
in
WHEREAS, Providing for a
large family and building a flourishing insurance business
are significant accomplishments, but John Clarke is that rare
individual for whom the call of
politics and an abiding passion for civic service are so
intrinsic to his being that he always
managed to find the time to offer his help and his talents;
and
WHEREAS, From managing numerous campaigns to serving as Chairman of
the West
Warwick Canvassing Board and President of the Rhode
Island Jaycees, John Clarke’s
accomplishments are legendary. He has carried out a list of responsibilities
and held a panoply of
titles that have not only earned him myriad honors and
awards, but also the admiration and
gratitude of the people of this state; now, therefore be
it
RESOLVED,
That this House of Representatives of the State of
Providence Plantations
hereby congratulates and thanks John J. Clarke, Jr., for his outstanding
contributions to the betterment of the
happiness, and success in all his future endeavors; and be it
further
RESOLVED,
That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is
authorized and directed to
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to John
Clarke, Jr.
