A N A C T

RELATING TO CERTIFICATION OF CIVIL UNIONS

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any other general or special law to the contrary, Stephanie

Chafee may join Ron Margolin and Lynn McKinney in civil union within the City of Newport,

Rhode Island, on or about November 5, 2011.  Stephanie Chafee is hereby authorized and

empowered to join the foregoing persons in civil union pursuant to and in accordance with

chapter 15-3.1 of the general laws, entitled "Certification of Civil Unions.”

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
