HONORING
REPRESENTATIVE JOHN J. LOUGHLIN, II, FOR HIS SERVICE TO THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE
OF

WHEREAS, On November 2nd
of 2004, the Honorable John Loughlin, II, was elected
to
the Rhode Island House of Representatives from District
71, which encompasses Little Compton
and portions of
and the citizens of
WHEREAS,
Representative Loughlin has served as the House
Minority Whip. He is also
a member on the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs,
the House Committee on Health,
Education, and Welfare, and the
House Committee on Labor. During
his tenure, he has earned
the admiration of his colleagues and the gratitude of his
constituents; and
WHEREAS,
John J. Loughlin, II, graduated from
continued his education, earning a Bachelor of Science degree
in Sociology from the State
WHEREAS, Married to his lovely wife, Susan, Representative Loughlin is the proud
father of two children, Victoria and Carrie. He enlisted in
the Rhode Island National Guard in
1978, and spent ten years on flight status as a helicopter
pilot. He retired from the US Army
Reserve in 2004 as a Lieutenant Colonel. Currently, he
owns and operates Media-Rite LLC, and
is a Media Consultant; and
WHEREAS, Active within
the community, Representative Loughlin is a member of
the
American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and,
previously, the Tiverton Economic
Development Commission; and
WHEREAS, Representative Loughlin has touched the lives of so many people through
his service to our country and his diligent efforts to
enact legislation on behalf of his constituents.
He is a truly extraordinary man who serves as a model
of dedicated and conscientious civic
service, and he is eminently worthy of our gratitude and
acknowledgement; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED,
That this House of Representatives of the State of
Providence Plantations
hereby honors Representative John J. Loughlin, II, as
he concludes his
service in the Rhode Island General Assembly. We thank him
for a job well done, and extend our
sincere wishes for his continued health, happiness, and
success; and be it further
RESOLVED,
That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is
authorized and directed to
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to The Honorable
John J. Loughlin, II.
