S O L U T I O N
RECOGNIZING AND
COMMENDING JESSE COLE ON ACHIEVING SCOUTING’S MOST DISTINGUISHED HONOR,
THE RANK OF
EAGLE SCOUT

WHEREAS, Not every boy, nor even every Scout, qualifies for the high
rank of Eagle.
Strenuous physical hurdles, high mental requirements,
strong personal character, indomitable
spirit, and a commitment to community service are a rare
combination of qualities and
achievements to find in one person. Jesse Cole is just such an
extraordinary young man and his
accomplishments are truly worthy and deserving of our recognition and
praise; and
WHEREAS, Jesse Cole is a
member of Troop 101 and has held several leadership
positions within the troop, including Junior Assistant
Scoutmaster, Troop Guide, and Instructor.
He has demonstrated wide-ranging abilities, effective
skills, and the kind of self-confidence that
make him a worthy leader; and
WHEREAS, Learning important lifelong skills and values, Jesse earned
twenty-eight
merit badges and has received numerous special awards and
distinctions, including Junior Leader
Training, the World Conservation Award, the Order of
the Arrow, and the Woody Lowden
Award; and
WHEREAS, As the highlight of his scouting years, Jesse completed the
final step toward
obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout by planning and carrying out
an extensive Eagle service
project. He led a group of his fellow scouts constructing a
sign for the Foster Center Library and
landscaping the grounds; and
WHEREAS, Attaining the rank of Eagle Scout requires considerable
perseverance and is
considered to be the pinnacle of achievement within the Boy
Scouts of America. It is an
exceptional distinction achieved by only about five percent of
all the young men who enter
scouting; and
WHEREAS, It is essential and fitting to recognize the triumphs of our
youth, and to
celebrate the accomplishments of our future leaders. Jesse Cole
is a remarkable young man who
exemplifies everything an Eagle Scout should be, and all that we
hope our children will grow to
be; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED,
That this Senate of the State of
hereby honors Jesse Cole for his untiring service to the
community and for setting a high standard
of commitment and dedication by which youth of this
great state may follow. We congratulate
him for all he has done to attain the rank of Eagle
Scout, and extend our very best wishes for
good health and happiness in the months and years ahead;
and be it further
RESOLVED,
That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized
and directed to
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Jesse
Cole.
