HONORING ANN
MARIE TAGLIAFERRI ON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT

WHEREAS,
people interested in pursuing public service who are willing
to begin that learning process as
Pages serving the General Assembly. This was the humble beginnings of Ann Marie Tagliaferri's
career at the Rhode Island State House; and
WHEREAS, In her teens, Ann Marie served as a Page for the Rhode
Island House of
Representatives while attending
she attended
education. She continued her education at
Master of Arts degree; and
WHEREAS, In March of
1978, Ann Marie chose a path that resulted in a career spanning
more than three decades at the
responsibilities; and
WHEREAS, Ann Marie spent
many years as the Executive Assistant to the Commission
on Criminal Justice. She also served as an assistant to
numerous legislators throughout the years
and, as a result of experience, was named
Commission. In addition, she served as assistant to the Energy
and Environmental Resources
Committee and the Water Resources
Committee. Her duties included
coordination of scheduling
and correspondence; and
WHEREAS, Ann Marie
retired on April 1st of 2010, and now enjoys the extra time she
has to pursue life's pleasures. She will be surely missed
by the many friends and legislators she
has worked with over the years; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED,
That this Senate of the State of
hereby expresses our heartfelt appreciation to Ann Marie Tagliaferri for thirty-three years of
dedicated service to the citizens, the General Assembly, and
the State of
her continued success and many years of good health and
tremendous happiness; and be it further
RESOLVED,
That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is
authorized and directed to
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Ann Marie
Tagliaferri.
