WELCOMING THE
REGION I INTERNATIONAL

WHEREAS, Founded in
1947, the International Institute of Municipal Clerks is the
leading professional association serving the needs of
Municipal Clerks, Secretaries, Treasurers,
and Recorders from cities and towns worldwide; and
WHEREAS, The
International Institute of Municipal Clerks’ primary goal is to actively
promote the continuing education and professional development
of Municipal Clerks. Through
extensive education programs, certification, publications,
networking, annual conferences, and
research Municipal Clerks are able to expand and advance
beyond their current levels of
development; and
WHEREAS, The
International Institute also provides training in municipal research,
enhances skill development and strategies, and harbors a
spirit of assistance and fellowship of
Municipal Clerks around the world; and
WHEREAS, The position of Municipal Clerk is the oldest of public
servants in local
government. The profession traces back before biblical times.
When the early colonists came to
countries. The office of the clerk was the first one
established; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the years, Municipal Clerks have become the core
of
government. In some areas around the world, they are the link
between constituents of their
communities and government; and
WHEREAS, Currently, there are 10,400 members in the International
Institute, mostly
from the
ten million people in
WHEREAS, We are pleased to host the Region I International Institute
of Municipal
Clerks comprising all
RESOLVED,
That this Senate of the State of
hereby extends its welcome to the Region I International
Institute of Municipal Clerks; and be it
further
RESOLVED,
That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is
authorized and directed to
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the
Region I International Institute of
Municipal
Clerks.
