O L U T I O N
HONORING AND
CONGRATULATING LIEUTENANT COLONEL PAUL M. KENNEDY ON HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE
UNITED STATES ARMY RESERVE AFTER ALMOST THIRTY-SEVEN YEARS OF DISTINGUISHED AND
DEVOTED SERVICE TO OUR NATION AND THE CITIZENS OF RHODE ISLAND

WHEREAS, Lieutenant
Colonel Paul M. Kennedy began his distinguished military
career when he joined the United States Army in 1973. Since
then, he has served with honor and
integrity in the United States Army, Rhode Island Army National
Guard, and the
Army Reserve; and
WHEREAS, Lieutenant
Colonel Kennedy has served his nation and the State of
Island with distinction in a variety
of positions. With the Rhode
Island Army National Guard, he
served as the Brigade S-2 for the 43rd Military Police
Brigade and Assistant J-2 Chief of the
Security Branch. With the United States Army Reserve, he served as
Deputy Commander, 1st
Brigade (Military Intelligence) and 100th Division
(Operational Support); and
WHEREAS, Lieutenant
Colonel Kennedy, as Deputy Commander of the 1st Brigade, led
the Brigade through a difficult transformation that
realigned five MI Battalions and a Brigade
HHC under the 100th Division (OS). He accomplished this while mitigating unit stress,
increasing
unit morale, and improving overall unit strength by almost
20 percent. Lieutenant Colonel
Kennedy’s dedication to duty, high standards of
personal conduct, and genuine concern for the
welfare of soldiers were key to the overall success of the
1st Brigade’s mission; and
WHEREAS, The United States
Army will sorely miss Lieutenant Colonel Kennedy’s
commitment to excellence, devotion to duty, and innovative
leadership. His stellar duty
performance and superior contributions reflect great credit upon
himself, the 1st Brigade (MI), the
Military Intelligence Corps, the
now, therefore be it
RESOLVED,
That this House of Representatives of the State of
Providence Plantations
hereby honors and congratulates Lieutenant Colonel Paul M. Kennedy on
his retirement from the United States Army Reserve after
almost thirty-seven years of
distinguished service to our nation and the citizens of
and joyous retirement and continued success in all future
endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED,
That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is
authorized and directed to
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to
Lieutenant Colonel Paul M. Kennedy.
