A N A C T

RELATING TO VALIDATING AND RATIFYING CERTAIN AMENDMENTS TO THE HOME RULE CHARTER OF THE CUMBERLAND HILL FIRE DISTRICT

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

SECTION 1. Section 4 of an act approved January 27, 1931 entitled "An Act to

Incorporate the Cumberland Hill Fire District in the Town of Cumberland," as amended, is

hereby amended to read as follows:

Sec. 4. Election of officers. – Said members at each annual meeting, and at any special

meeting when vacancies occur, shall elect officers to serve for one (1) year or more or until the

next annual meeting, and until officers be elected in their stead, which officers shall consist of a

moderator, assistant moderator, and a board of fire commissioners of five (5) members, whose

duties and powers within said district shall be such as like officers of town in this state within

their respective towns. Said members may also elect such other officers and committees as they

may deem necessary, and may fix the compensation of all officers, agents, employees and

committees of the district. Any vacancy that may occur in any of the aforenamed officers

between annual meetings shall be filled by some person to be chosen by the board of fire

commissioners, and to hold such office until the next annual meeting.

     There shall also be appointed staff consisting of one (1) clerk, three (3) one (1) tax

assessors assessor, one (1) tax collector, one (1) assistant tax collector and, one (1) treasurer and

one (1) business manager who shall be appointed by the board of fire commissioners.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
