J O I N T R E S O L U T I O N

REQUESTING THE RHODE ISLAND DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH ESTABLISH REGULATIONS TO MANDATE NURSING HOME EVACUATION PLANS

     RESOLVED, That this General Assembly of the State of Rhode Island and Providence

Plantations hereby respectfully requests the Rhode Island Department of Health to establish

regulations requiring all administrators of Rhode Island nursing homes to file a natural disaster

evacuation plan for approval with the Emergency Operations Director in the city or town in

which they are located; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Governor Donald Carcieri, the Director of the

Rhode Island Department of Health, and the Rhode Island Nursing Home Association.
