A N A C T

RELATING TO AUTHORIZING THE SISTERS OF MERCY OF THE UNION IN THE

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, PROVINCE OF PROVIDENCE, INC. TO RECEIVE,

TAKE, HOLD, TRANSMIT AND CONVEY REAL AND PERSONAL PROPERTY TO AN

AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWENTY MILLION DOLLARS ($20,000,000)

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Section 1 of the 1973 Acts and Resolves entitled 'An Act to Authorize

Sisters of Mercy of The Union in the United States of America, Province of Providence, Inc. to

Receive, Take, Hold, Transmit, and Convey Real and Personal Property to An Amount Not to

Exceed Twenty Million Dollars ($20,000,000)' is hereby amended to read as follows:

     Section 1. Sisters of Mercy of the Americas Northeast Community, Inc., a Missouri

nonprofit section 501 (c) (3) corporation, a successor in interest to the Sisters of Mercy of the

Union in the United States of America, Province of Providence, Inc. a non business charitable

corporation, incorporated under the laws of the state of Rhode Island on May 7, 1931, for the

purposes permitted for nonbusiness corporations, and other related nonbusiness corporations, are

hereby authorized to receive, take, hold, transmit and convey real and personal property to an

amount not to exceed twenty million dollars ($20,000,000), and said real and personal estate shall

be exempt from taxation so long as it shall be used for the purposes for which said corporation

and other related nonbusiness corporations have been incorporated.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect on July 1, 2006.
