A N A C T

RELATING TO TOWNS AND CITIES -- EXEMPTING FROM TAXATION CERTAIN PROPERTY OF THE MIDDLETOWN HISTORICAL SOCIETY INC.

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. The town of Middletown may, by ordinance, exempt from taxation any and

all real property owned or leased by the Middletown Historical Society, Inc., a Rhode Island non-

profit corporation, so long as said property shall be used for the purposes for which the

corporation was incorporated. This exemption shall be retroactive to December 31, 2003 and

shall apply to all property owned or leased by the Middletown Historical Society, Inc.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
