H O U S E R E S O L U T I O N

PROCLAIMING MAY 2-6, 2005 TO BE "COMMUNITY PROVIDER NETWORK OF

RHODE ISLAND WEEK"

     WHEREAS, The Community Provider Network of Rhode Island is a non-profit trade

association representing organizations that provide numerous support and services, including

education, leadership and issue advocacy, to people with disabilities in Rhode Island; and

     WHEREAS, The Community Provider Network of Rhode Island members offer people

with disabilities and their families the highest quality, cost-effective, innovative and flexible

service that promotes growth and independence; and

     WHEREAS, Direct Support Professionals are highly trained individuals who promote

and support better health care, improved safety and greater dignity to a vulnerable population,

which is striving for greater independence and acceptance in the community, now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and

Providence Plantations hereby proclaims May 2-6, 2005 to be “Community Network of Rhode

Island Week”; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the Director of the Rhode Island Community

Provider Network.
