A N A C T

AMENDING THE CHARTER OF THE UNITED CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Section 2 of the Acts and Resolves of January, 1905 session entitled "An

Act in Amendment of and in addition to the Charters of the "First Congregational Church in

Newport, Rhode Island," passed at the June session, A.D. 1771, of the "Second Congregational

Church in Newport, R.I.," passed at the June session, A.D. 1774, and of the "United

Congregational Church in Newport, Rhode Island," passed at the June session, 1883, and of the

several acts in amendment thereof is hereby amended to read as follows:

     SEC 2. Those who at the time of the passage of this act are members of the corporation of

the United Congregational Church, together with those who, for the time being, or at any or all

times hereafter, shall be communicant members of said church, shall be members of this

corporation, but only those of legal age shall have the right to vote.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
