S E N A T E R E S O L U T I O N

RECOGNIZING NATIONAL NURSING HOME WEEK

     WHEREAS, It is appropriate that we pay tribute to the citizens who live in nursing

homes and to the staff in nursing homes who provide quality care for our elderly population; and

     WHEREAS, Today there are approximately 10,500 Rhode Islanders living in Rhode

Island nursing homes, and these citizens have contributed to their communities throughout their

lives and are deserving of the love and care provided by their caregivers; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

hereby recognizes National Nursing Home Week and thanks the staff at Rhode Island's nursing

homes for the professional, dedicated and compassionate care they provide to our seniors living

in nursing homes; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the Director of the Rhode Island Health Care

Association.
