A N A C T

RELATING TO THE TOCKWOTTON HOME, ORIGINALLY INCORPORATED AS HOME FOR AGED WOMEN

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Section 2 of An Act entitled “An Act to Incorporate the Home for Aged

Women” passed at the January Session A.D. 1857, and as amended most recently by the General

Assembly in 1993, is hereby amended to read as follows:

     “Sec. 2. The said corporation may receive and take by purchase, grant devise bequest, or

donation any real and personal property and hold the same for purposes aforesaid to any amount

not exceeding twenty million dollars ($20,000,000), exempted from taxation to the extent

permitted by the council of the city or town in which such property, real or personal is situated

and may manage and dispose of the same according to its discretion.”

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
