MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PAY CERTAIN VETERANS' BONUSES

SECTION
1. Notwithstanding the provisions of title 30,
chapter 22, section 4 of the Rhode Island general laws, 1956, as amended, as
such sections shall apply to application time periods, there is hereby
appropriated, out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated for
the fiscal year ending June 30, 2002, the sums stipulated to pay the Korean War
bonuses of the following:
the
sum of $200.00 to pay the Korean Conflict bonus of Edward A. Burdick, 8329 Elko
Drive, Ellicott City, Maryland 21045, who served in the Korean Conflict,
Adjutant General File No. 000216;
the
sum of $200.00 to pay the Korean Conflict bonus of Howard S. Chase, 690
Willington Hill Road, Manchester, NH 03104, who served in the Korean Conflict,
Adjutant General File No. 010500;
SECTION
2. All veterans seeking such bonuses pursuant to
section 1 hereof, shall be subject to all other requirements contained in
chapter 57 of the public laws, 1978; and no such bonus shall be paid until the
case has been considered, acted upon, and approved for payment by the Adjutant
General of the state; and the state controller is hereby authorized and
directed to draw his/her orders upon the general treasurer for the payment of
said sum, upon receipt by him/her of all properly authenticated vouchers.
SECTION 3. This act
shall take effect upon passage.
