MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PAY CERTAIN VETERANS' BONUSES

SECTION
1.
Notwithstanding the provisions of sections 1, 6 and 8 of chapter 57 of
public laws, 1978 as such sections shall apply to application time periods,
there is hereby appropriated, out of any money in the treasury not otherwise
appropriated for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2002 the sums stipulated to
pay the Vietnam bonuses of the following:
the
sum of $200.00 to pay the Vietnam bonus of Earl F. Dunphy III of 20 Evergreen
Drive, Exeter, RI 02822 who served in the Vietnam conflict, Adjutant General
File No. 000317;
the
sum of $200.00 to pay the Vietnam bonus of Paul H. Gagielo of 9 Taylor Street,
North Attleboro, MA 02760 who served in the Vietnam conflict, Adjutant General
File No. 980811;
the
sum of $200.00 to pay the Vietnam bonus of Livingston W. Baker of Veterans
Home, 480 Metacom Avenue, Bristol, RI 02809 who served in the Vietnam conflict,
Adjutant General File No. 980915;
the
sum of $200.00 to pay the Vietnam bonus of Leo J. Belmore of 825 Pontiac
Avenue, Unit 17102, Cranston, RI 02910 who served in the Vietnam conflict,
Adjutant General File No. 991017;
the
sum of $200.00 to pay the Vietnam bonus of Steven B. Bigelow of 66 Massey Road,
Tiverton, RI 02878 who served in the Vietnam conflict, Adjutant General File
No. 990312;
the
sum of $200.00 to pay the Vietnam bonus of Walter J. Seminick of 30 Crown
Street, Central Falls, RI 02863 who served in the Vietnam conflict, Adjutant
General File No. 990922;
the
sum of $200.00 to pay the Vietnam bonus of Peter J. Ondrasek of 51 Whispering
Pine Terrace, West Greenwich, RI 02852 who served in the Vietnam conflict,
Adjutant General File No. 011207;
the
sum of $200.00 to pay the Vietnam bonus of John A. Tomasso of 70 Lincoln
Avenue, Cranston, RI who served in the Vietnam conflict, Adjutant General File
No. 000308.
SECTION
2. All
veterans seeking such bonuses pursuant to section 1 hereof, shall be subject to
all other requirements contained in chapter 57 of the public laws, 1978; and no
such bonus shall be paid until the case has been considered, acted upon, and
approved for payment by the Adjutant General of the state; and the state
controller is hereby authorized and directed to draw his orders upon the
general treasurer for the payment of said sum, upon receipt by him of all
properly authenticated vouchers.
SECTION
3. This act shall take effect upon passage.
