WHEREAS, The village of Apponaug, in the city of Warwick, has long awaited the proposed Apponaug By-Pass Project which will connect Veterans Memorial Drive to Centerville Road, making traffic improvements in the village; and

WHEREAS, The City Council of Warwick cast a unanimous vote of confidence in the construction project which has been under consideration for close to two decades; and

WHEREAS, The Honorable Mayor of Warwick, Scott Avedisian, has named the project as the number one priority among road projects in the city; now, therefore be it

RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations hereby supports the commencement of the Apponaug By-Pass Project, connecting Veterans Memorial Drive to Centerville Road to avoid traffic problems on these two main traffic routes in Warwick; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the Warwick City Council.
