1 | WHEREAS, Physicians play an essential role in safeguarding the health, well-being, and |
2 | quality of life of all Rhode Islanders; and |
3 | WHEREAS, Members of the Rhode Island Medical Society (RIMS) represent a broad |
4 | community of physicians committed to excellence in patient care, medical education, scientific |
5 | advancement, public health, and service to their communities; and |
6 | WHEREAS, Physicians across Rhode Island provide compassionate, evidence-based care |
7 | to patients, while navigating an increasingly complex healthcare system marked by significant |
8 | administrative, regulatory, and financial pressures; and |
9 | WHEREAS, Physician advocacy is essential to ensuring that healthcare policy remains |
10 | centered on patients, supports access to timely and affordable care, and improves public health |
11 | throughout the State; and |
12 | WHEREAS, The annual RIMS Advocacy Day brings physicians to the State House to |
13 | engage directly with policymakers, share their medical expertise and frontline experience, and |
14 | advocate for policies that improve patient outcomes and support sustainable healthcare systems; |
15 | now, therefore be it |
16 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby honors the Rhode |
17 | Island Medical Society for organizing the 2026 State House Advocacy Day and recognizes the |
18 | physicians participating in this event for their dedication to their patients, their profession, and the |
19 | people of the State of Rhode Island; and be it further |

1 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
2 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the Rhode Island Medical Society. |
