CONGRATULATING SANDRA BERUBE ON HER RETIREMENT AFTER 33 YEARS OF

DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE STATE OF RHODE ISLAND AND THE RHODE ISLAND

GENERAL ASSEMBLY AS A SENIOR STAFF MEMBER WITH THE RHODE ISLAND

STATE SENATE

     WHEREAS, Sandra Berube began her distinguished public service career in 1993, when

2

she was hired to serve as a Secretary for the Rhode Island Senate. Immediately, her colleagues

3

were widely impressed with her tireless work ethic, her abiding integrity and her devotion to

4

duty. In recognition of those qualities, Sandra was asked to serve as Majority Leader Paul Kelly’s

5

Administrative Assistant from 1997 to 2000; and

6

     WHEREAS, In 2009, Sandra was promoted to serve as the Rhode Island State Senate

7

Legislative Grants Coordinator, a position she still holds today. Over the last 16 years, Sandra has

8

worked conscientiously and diligently with numerous agencies and nonprofits helping to create

9

better neighborhoods and communities across the State; and

10

     WHEREAS, In her free time, Sandra enjoys gardening, crafting, hiking, and spending

11

time at Rhode Island beaches. Sandra also enjoys graphic designing in her free time, creating

12

beautiful art for all to see and enjoy. Sandra is currently in the process of publishing a children’s

13

book. Sandra also enjoys spending time with her beloved dog, Kobe, and looks forward to

14

spending quality time in her new home in Connecticut with her family and many friends; now,

15

therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby heartily congratulates

17

their beloved colleague Sandra Berube on her retirement from the State of Rhode Island and the

18

Rhode Island State Senate after 33 years of exemplary service to the citizens of Rhode Island. We

also wish Sandra a joyous and happy retirement, good health and continued success in all her

2

future endeavors; and be it further

3

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

4

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Ms. Sandra Berube.
